Perfect family getaway - Haven Holidays

I took my Haven Holiday in 2004 and was hooked ever since. I have been to numerous parks and as my little Konnie would say “ I love staying in a Caravan Mummy” She is not so little now just turned 13 - Her Birthday weekend away is to Hafan Y Mor - where I am currently attempting this blog.

Why do I like Haven Parks? I am a holiday snob it is true and I think there is a big misconception about Haven. You really can take it or leave it type holiday. The Parks offer great activities and each year Haven revamp their parks to offer amazing swimming pools which really is the one of the key selling points.

The Funstar work so hard and as I started out as an overseas rep hats off to these young folk full of bounce and energy. My girls are older now 15 and 13 so we don’t have to do the Ned’s Disco at 6pm. But they do love watching an hour in the evening as most of the parks now have been replaced with the Theatre Company. I did watch the Dream Girls show at Thornwick Bay in 2017 and WOW they were brilliant. Well Done Haven on your revamp of entertainment even for an old cynic like me.

Accommodation

Haven offer a great range of accommodation to suit all budgets From Glamping to Lodges

You can choose from a top-of-the-range platinum caravan, which is the size of a small bungalow, has all mod cons and in some parks you can pay for amazing sea views, all the way down to a standard model, which is basic with no view, but still quite roomy, well-equipped.

I have tried and tested all the Categories from Standard to Platinum. My advice is don’t go below a Deluxe. Deluxe are not that much difference in price than standard many have had a recent upgrade and the 'deluxe-plus' caravans are only few years old with extra space and facilities.

Location, Location, Location

The area is Key when selecting your Haven Holiday and to be honest all the parks I have visited are in great locations for Beach, Nature and sightseeing

Haven have 36 holiday parks dotted around the Great British coastline. From rugged shores of Scotland and Northumberland to the surf-tinged glory of Devon and Cornwall.

Deciding on the ideal Parks isn’t easy, but I tend to stick to the parks where I get the great British coastline and can discover new places with lots of days out.

We had a new addition to our family in 2017 - Harlow our Shar Pei - Great News is most Haven Parks are Dog Friendly. The Location of the Parks means you can also have some great walks. Our Pooch Fav is Thornwick Bay.

If I had to pick my favourite park for location without a doubt it is Riviere Sands, Hayle Cornwall. It is a small park but the Sea View Caravans especially if you book with Decking are just amazing. It is a great location for exploring St Ives, Lands End, Minack Theatre and all the amazing beaches. I have booked for 2019 Easter Holidays as this Park with Perran Sands book up very quickly.

Parks Visited: Hafan Y Mor, Thornwick Bay, Primrose Valley, Riviere Sands, Perran Sands, Cala Gran, Marton Mere, Lakeland, Devon Cliffs.

This post is not sponsored by Haven and I don’t get free Holidays. Just wanted to share my Family tips and experiences. I can book your Haven Holiday and guide you through the various parks.
